 A more realistic view of this is that we could all make a positive by reducing meat and dairy intake, rather than seeing it that everyone MUST become vegan right this second. And in terms of people questioning the vegan burger/sausage alternatives, it is possible to lower your meat intake without trying to directly replace it. Eat more veg, try recipes using beans/chickpeas/lentils. These things can be extremely affordable. Have a couple of days a week of this and you have made a difference. A lot of animal grazing land is totally unsuitable for veg/grain. We need better rules for meat/ dairy production, cheaper local respectfully raised meat. A lot of ‘vegan’ options are highly processed and just as bad. Acres of veg/ soya etc actually can cut biodiversity as grass and meadow for animals support other creatures and plants. And as ‘homo sapients’ we have evolved by eating meat. Just to add that I have cut down my own meat consumption by 50% and eat local meat well produced. When the new E10 petrol was introduced, we were told it would be cheaper in order to wean us off the old E5 petrol but, in reality, it's far more expensive & I notice the price rises more because I only buy half a tank at a time now. Everything is increase in price, except wages, or at least not in line with price rises. And yet its everyday folk who get the blame for inflation. Also if the reports i've been reading of the hugh travel jams at the ports are correct, although not reported by the BBC it seems, then things are just going to get worst.
