  Herrera also will play a selection from the Library’s Archive of Hispanic Literature on Tape to celebrate its launch. The reading is free and open to the public. No tickets are required, but seating is limited. Herrera will headline an event at the National Portrait Gallery on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Nan Tucker McEvoy Auditorium to honor “One Life: Dolores Huerta.” Herrera, alongside Diana Garcia and Arlene Biala, will read poetry responding to the exhibit as a way to highlight Huerta, a leader in the United Farm Workers movement and lifelong champion of workers’ rights.  Andersen re-animates the images Muybridge originally presented on a zoopraxoscope, a predecessor of the projector. The documentary features cinematography by Morgan Fisher, a script by Fay Andersen, music by Mike Cohen, biographical research by Robert Bartlett Haas and narration by Dean Stockwell. When the PBS affiliate set to broadcast the film declined the completed piece, Andersen ultimately sold his work to New Yorker Films, which recognized Andersen’s unique voice as a cultural commentator and helped launch his career.  The Library’s James Madison Memorial Building is the nation’s official memorial to the fourth president, in honor of his achievements as historian, political scientist and statesman. Dedicated in 1980, the building contains a statue of Madison in its memorial hall. Quotations from Madison's writings adorn the walls of the memorial hall as well as the entrance of the building.  Herblock's cartoons also have been showcased, this past year, in another room of the Graphic Arts Galleries, in an exhibition titled "Pointing Their Pens: Herblock and Fellow Cartoonists Confront the Issues." It will close on Saturday, March 19, 2016. The exhibition, featuring 30 cartoons, looks at how editorial cartoonists, often with divergent viewpoints, interpreted divisive issues of the 20th century. "Herblock Looks at 1966" has been made possible through the generous support of the Herb Block Foundation.   Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer star in this classic chiller about a man who slowly manipulates his wife into believing she is going insane. This second adaptation of Patrick Hamilton’s 1938 play "Gas Light" (a British production was released in 1940) was directed by George Cukor.
