 I'm scottish and our first minister said that out of the population that has been vaccinated (can't remember a figure) it was where 99% of the covid deaths came from. That says a lot to me. And before anyone has a go I'm a type 1 diabetic who has worked with no furlough through the whole thing. I can also accept that without modern medicine I would have been dead in my teens. I'm comfortable with my own mortality as we are all born to die. I'm happy to be here but I also get that disease and disaster are one way our planet tries to regulate population. Death is sad but the planet was here before any of us or our opinions. But I hear ya with looking out for you and let others look after themselves.

 After 11years working 50h a week on my feet in the hospitality industry, (that everyone knows that is hard work and badly paid) I was able to get an office job. Still the company never considered work from home a possibility until the confinement. Now I've been working from home for over an year and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am still very productive but instead of spending my breaks sitting in the break room scrolling on my phone, I can do some home stuff so when I finish work I'm never worried if "I have to do laundry" or whatever.. I don't have kids, which makes me love being at home without distractions nor social pressure to look good, be friendly, participate in activities that I really don't want to. Geoffrey Lages the pandemic has forced an opportunity that many companies wanted to trial ie majority of days working from home.  Absolute rubbish. Let them go- to where? The market for such people is infintesimally small. Reduce the top earners by 20%. We the listening and watching bill payers would not notice the difference if 1 or 2 filled up the only available vacancies elsewhere. There’s so much dross on the BBC. The money they spend on American Football coverage is ridiculous, especially for such a niche audience in the middle of the night. Does Eastenders really need to be on 4 nights a week?(lighter work schedule for the cast and crew would mean more palatable salaries). Why does the BBC even bother with sport? It doesn’t do it well and Sky/BT Sports/advertisers would snap up most of the few events the BBC still has on its books. There’s so many easy wins it’s amazing that they’re ONLY saving this amount.
